• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Coolant Leak in 2012 RT LMT

New owner of RT LMT. 2012...was running hot..filled coolant (that was a chore!!) now after a week of rides, have coolant leaking under the unit next to a small tube. Did I screw up and overfill or did I do some type of damage??

Did you get the cap turned back on past the second detent?? :dontknow:
(They put 2 of them in there, to really play with our minds...)

Check to see if plastic coolant reservoir has leak along seams. Its only plastic and cannot take the excessive heat.
I know of another Rt(2011 RT LTD) owner who had this problem, there was a crack along the seam of the reservoir tank. The coolant was dripping out of the crack down the small plastic tubing and on to the ground making it look like he had a hose leaking.

The bottle has a max line maybe too high or hoses leaking you an see the hoses from the lower opening in front of the right foot peg or floor boards

The 2012 RT had a recall in reference to a coolant leak. There is a seal that must be replaced and some stuff. Has this been done to yours?

Four things..!!

1. A cracked coolant tank..not likely
2. Overfilled coolant running out the overflow..could be
3. Water pump seal leak..not likely
4. Radiator has one adjustable hose clamp known to need tightening
5. Raidiator cap not tightened to the second detent..likely

It has two detents as a safety feature. Many people in the old days wanted to add water when overheated and would loosen the cap and it would fly off and scald anyone near. So they added the first detent so it would release pressure and steam but not fly off. Getting to the first and second s a chore...

Oops..!! Thats five...:roflblack:
