• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What size engines does BRP use in their snowmobiles? Are they still CVT, and do they have a reverse?

Thanks,

john

Agree...

:agree: Aprilia uses some awesome Rotax engines 150 hp and would bolt right in....:dontknow: and they are street ready....

I'm negotiating for a GS with a lunched engine, I'm wondering if I can go full auto, with maybe a 3 cylinder engine, keep the reverse, play with the gearing, you know, like when I was building interesting stuff.

.........I heard APRILLA already has the electrical mapping to make our SEMI-AUTO into a FULL AUTO....:yes::yes:..............Mike

Mike, Aprilia used the same engine as the v twin Spyders up until they brought out their own 1000cc v four, the older Tuono and RSV both used the Rotax twin. The engine/trans you're thinking of is in the Mano 850, it's a completely different setup from the essie Spyders.
I'm leaning toward a triple, liquid cooled, CVT with reverse, if I can find one that will fit. And if I can get the chassis to plug it into without breaking what I'll admit is a very skinny bank.

my project is a bit simpler, I think. And surely not as liable to bust the "skinny bank".

I'd swap the twin for the ski doo 900 triple (in my ST) in a flash ... looking forward to "how to" instructions! Have fun...

It looks like I'll have time to do a bit more research, the GS I was looking at is gone.
So I'll be spending time bothering the sled techs near where I used to live, measurements, and a bunch of other stuff.

Fyi my grandfathers functional buildImageUploadedByTapatalk1454026657.668670.jpg is freaky if you've never shot a blackpowder pistol b4. Cool but freaky

I see the one in the box is a sidelock with percussion cap ignition. i have a .44 caliber percussion revolver which I enjoy a lot. I have a .50 caliber flintlock rifle, so I am familiar with blackpowder shooting. I am really looking forward to shooting the flintlock pistol when I get it finished.

finished the final shaping of the grip to fit my hand, and the forestock to fit the brass furniture the way i like. Next final sanding, tung oill finish, chamfer the barrel end, reblue, assemble, load and fire..............
