• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Compressor failed

2011 RTS. During our trip to Ohio at the end of August, the compressor failed. It would let air bleed out but no increase of pressure. During the trip I used my Brothers hand air pump that he use for his HD. Once home, I started doing some trouble shooting. The dash switch seemed to operate ok. ACS switch seemed ok, it would bleed off air, changed the fuse and swapped relays. Compressor would not operate. No big deal, I had a small compressor I use in my atv, so I carried it with me. I also disconnected the ACS switch, this stopped it from bleeding off any air. I did find that the air bladder keeps its pressure for a few days. It would only drop a few pounds. I was running around 45 lbs of air. Explained everthing I had done to the dealer, I was informed they would order a compressor and bring the Spyder in for service on a weekend I had to work. Dropped off Spyder Saturday. They called me Tuesday to let me know the ACS switch was bad, ok, I asked them about the compressor, They said they were not sure that was bad, so they did not order one. Today I stopped by and they had replaced the ACS switch and found the compressor to be bad. So they ordered one and I am in hopes to be riding it Friday afternoon. They showed me what happened to the compressor. Apparently during production some one forgot to tighten the set screw on the collar that attaches to the piston rod. They repaired it and was going to reinstall it. I said, "no you don't, I have a warrenty, order me a new one, which they did. I never have pulled the rear section of the Spyder before. They had it off in order to get the compressor off. It looked alot like an RS. Anyway the dealer has been very good. I have had my Spyder for 2 years and I have 26,000 miles on it. Things, I have had replaced under warranty, throttle body, seat, both rear speakers, ACS switch, front nose cone, I guess that is it. Warranty is a wonderful thing. Wife and I do love ryding the Spyder. In hopes to get a few more weeks of ryding before I have put away for the winter.
