Charging battery through 12V outlet in Runk

I have a Battery Tender Plus and I just purchased from them a battery cable connector which will plug into the 12V outlet on the left hand side of the "runk" of my Spyder RTS. I recall (and I think it was Scotty) someone saying that you could charge your battery if you had the proper connection into that outlet? Please correct me if I'm wrong, and would someone refresh my memory please?

I charge my battery through the power outlet. Went to radio shack and purchase a 12V power cord end. I then installed on the end of my battery tender junior after I cut the claps off. This works great and you don't need to make any connections to the battery>

I have been charging my battery through the rrunk outlet since December. Works great!
