Anybody remember the Pizza Pop man? Cold pizza hot pop :roflblack:. Most of them were instructors or retirees. They had coolers and hot boxes in the trunk and they would go through the dorm areas yelling "Pizza pop cold pop hot pizza". You could get a small pizza and a canned soft drink for $3.00.
I dated a girl from Springfield. Met her at the USO. Her parents were really nice. Her brother hated GI's. Anyway, I got orders to New Mexico. Shortly after I got there I got a package in the mail. It was my ring. Nothing else, just the ring. I was one happy camper.

View attachment 87945 We were restricted from hanging on the ladder or the platform as they were deemed unsafe. Anyone caught out there was severely reprimanded. We hung an effigy of our "rope" out there only because we couldn't hang him. He was a real ahole. The last night there we gave him a blanket party. Most of the flight was detained the next morning, but since he couldn't identify anyone, we, I mean the flight were all released to catch our planes. Fortunately, I was there in the summer.
