First I want to thank Lamonster and all the knowledgeable people on Spyderlover.com. I have learned a lot. I have been riding for many years but never in the "sport" position that a Spyder is set up for. I have a 38" inseam and don't bend that way anymore.
Since 1999 I have been on touring bikes, Kawasaki Nomad, HD Ultra Classic and HD Street Bob with forward controls. I need to go to three wheels due to health reasons now. I am planning on getting a SE5 to eliminate the need for left foot controls, a ISCI handbrake to free up my right foot. I know a custom saddle maker who can make the riding position further back for my leg comfort. I think the issue I have not figured out yet is the handlebars. I don't think risers can give me enough pullback. The Kewlmetal bars do not look like they come back as far as I need. Does anybody make 12 or 14" apehangers for a Spyder? What issues would there be besides longer cables? Isn't the hand shift electronic so splicing the wires would work?
I appreciate all the help and advice.
Thanks,
Skinner
