Changing Radio Channels

Hello everyone, I was playing around with my settings Sunday. I have on my main screen the digital tech and radio station displayed. I decide to disable both from the main screen. After changing I headed down the road. I hate commercials so I went to change the radio station. Would not change. If I chose the radio icon, I could change the channels. Stopped at a gas station and reset the radio back to displaying on the main screen.. I could now change channels again from the main screen. Has anyone else tried this? I have a 2011 RTs,sm5. That's how it works. To change stations from the main screen the radio must be on the main screen. Same in ipod mode.
