• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Changed my exhaust today

Thanks to fellow SpyderLover Schultzi, I got my Kewlmetal Performance Exhaust today (silver web design and no longer manufactured). All I can say is HOLY ****! I love it and don't believe anyone will tell me my Spyder "sounds like a sewing machine" ever again.

I read somewhere that I needed to unhook the battery to set the computer to the exhaust, or something like that. Is this the case? The bike sounds good and is running fine, though I didn't go far.

They do sound great when a pipe is put on. I had a 08 Manual with a Two Brothers single pipe and I liked it. I have a RT with tunes. I don't know if I will change this one. You should not need to do any battery disconnect. The computer will adapt as much as it can (do to the parameters in the controller) by feed back from the O2 sensors. Juice Box or other brand upgrade might squeeze a bit more out of the beast but if it runs well, leave it alone.

Would love to hear what thing sounds like. There can't be very much muffling material inside that pipe. :yikes:
Best I can tell there is not much at all. I listen to a UTube video before I bought it, but the video didn't come close to doing it justice.

I wanted loud and that's exactly what I got.

:congrats:

I know when I put the Hindle on mine, the instructions said to run the engine at an idle for 15 minutes after the install. Apparently this was supposed to be a long enough period for the ECM to realize the exhaust was different, and remap the air/fuel mixture accordingly. I don't know if that was truly the case, but I did follow those instructions. :dontknow:

Hey Carolina Riders, do you remember the rock slide on I 40 in NC couple years ago, my 2009 :spyder2: RS with the Kewlmetal Exhaust caused it.
Thats how loud it is!! LOL :2thumbs:

:roflblack: I had a funny feeling that was the case with this exhaust, and possibly why you sold it as well. :roflblack:
