• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

CB QUESTION

I wonder if any one knows what this setting in the CB preference means: LO-DX? I'm having trouble transmitting and I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem. I know my headset is good because I can use my phone.

That refers to Local and Distant. It changes the transmit power. Just a guess, but DX is probably around 5 watts and Local probably 2 or so. If you are riding right next to someone, and you are trying to talk, sometimes the higher power transmission is garbled.

Thanks Matt. Did you get your CB/Comm installed yet? If so, what kind of settings do you use? Rode thru PRC a couple of weeks ago with my group and looked to see if the risers for the RT were hanging on a fence post but no luck. Going on a 9 day ride in July. Maybe they will be available by then!!
See ya, Jack

Knightrider, What kind of phone do you have and how do you have it interfaced.
Thanks

Cappy,
I use a Droid but any Bluetooth capable phone will work with the Zumo 550 that is attached to the plug-in in the rear compartment of the RT. I got an extension at Radio Shack and ran it thru a hole in the cargo compartment, under the seat and under the plastic, feeding it up to the zumo mounted on the bars. Once you marry the phone to the zumo, you push a button if your phone rings and talk into your headset. I will say that it is not very effective over 50mph, too much noise.

Thanks, Knightrider.

I use a Garmin 478 which does not have bluetooth but does have XM weather overlay and XM music. I use an FM transmitter to send the xm to the radio. I can hook up the iPhone in the trunk and listen.... do not know if I will be able to talk though!
