• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Carrying a radio controlled plane

My other hobby is flying r/c aircraft. I wanted the option of carrying a plane to the local park on the spyder. This is what I came up with. I tested it this morning and it worked well. I haven't gone faster than 35mph with the plane on board. The plane might self destruct going faster.

Careful you dont get too much lift that far back!!! You'll lose traction on the rear wheel!!!! LOL

Nice job!

If you noticed I have the main wing at a slightly negative angle of attack to prevent me from going airborne:yikes: . Actually, it's an attempt to reduce stresses on the airframe.

I would be more concerned with the stress. If you are going fast enough to get any lift..I think you may have a great idea going, a MOD I would love to have but I am sure the FAA may not like. Interesting though.
Having the same type problems with my hobbies..bowling and software. Plus I coach soccer and other sports so taking bats around gets some stairs. Have not figured out a good place for the bats just yet without them sticking out.

I have corbin seats. The rear seat locks into position and is completely removable for maintenance access. By leaving it off it is easy to access the passenger grips which can hold quite a bit just by tie wrapping a base to the grips and modifying the base to carry whatever you need to carry.

:thumbup:Cool idea and I think you're off to a good start. I like to fly smaller units than that-- so for me it wouldn't be much of a problem.

One concern would be the post sticking out the back. I would put am orange warning flag on the end of it so anyone coming up behind you can clearly see it.

Nice job!

I was thinking of that too. Only 3 feet protrudes out the back and I think that is legal. The plane has florescent orange on it and should be easy to see. I remove the extension by pulling a hitch pin as soon as I am done transporting. The flag is a good idea.

Now that is a cool idea! I would also be afraid of what higher speeds might do to the plane itself, just because I don't know anything about how strong and durable they are.
