• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I used my GPS on my 2014 RT Limited for the first time this weekend and was a little disappointed. I have the volume on the GPS set to 100% along with the Mixing setting set to 100%. That being said, while riding I hear my FM radio mute though the speakers but I can barely if at all hear the lady telling me where to go. Does any one else have this problem? If so whats the deal?

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

Check the nav soud setting
with the audio screen of the bike on press the set button till it says nav
then check the nav volume. i found mine at the lowest setting

My lady tells me where to go everyday:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

That should be loud..Adjust your bike volume setting and then readjust your GPS volume or you will wake up the neighbors.

Clean the connections on both the mount & unit. Good ruff rag & alcohol will get most. If really funky you can try an eraser on a pencil.
Please DO NOT try wire brush!
Also good idea to have both off when cleaning you may even remove battery from GPS if you like. Good luck let us know.

I wasn't there but I still care! POW /MIA VETS

This interaction between the GPS and bike volume system in the radio is a confusing thing. Before you go tearing things apart try this:

Mode button into your Audio screen, the one where you select AM, FM, etc. and use the set button to select Aux. Don't plug anything into the Aux plug, just tap up the Aux volume to at least half way.

Now pick a destination into the GPS and hit go. You won't hear the the button taps over the speakers, but you will hear the lady tell you where to go. It will be loud. At that point, you'll be able to set the GPS volume where you want it on the Aux screen, and go back to the radio if desired.

While the radio is playing, GPS instructions will mute the radio and be at the volume you set up. If you then tap down the volume with the radio playing, the GPS volume will lower with it. If you depress and hold the down button, only the radio will mute, but the GPS volume will remain where it was. While the GPS is talking, the volume buttons will change the GPS. The Aux screen always comes in handy to initially set it all up.

At this point you will spend about a half hour in the garage playing around with it. But, once you get the hang of it, it's easy. Just keep hitting Recalculate to keep her talking.

I do hope that you get the volume sorted out on the Zumo. As a side note, Garmin, the maker of the Zumo has not named "that lady", however I have heard her referred to as either
"Bitchin Betty" or "Nagin Nancy". In either case, before I get flamed by all of the lovely ladies on this site, I might add that I did not name them, nor would I ever use those names.

That worked, do I have to do that every time prior to using the GPS?

Thanks

You do have to have the audio volume turned on before you will hear the GPS every time (I think every time) after you start the bike. The audio master volume will always determine the GPS volume. So every time you start out make sure your audio volume is turned up, the volume on the GPS unit is where you want it, (I always have it full up), and that you hear something from the GPS. You can then mute the audio if that's what you want. You do not have to go to Aux every time.
