• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Canadian Accessory Distributor(s)

I always make a point of supporting the vendors on this board when considering purchases for my Spyder RT. Unfortunately, in some cases, it is not cost effective due to shipping and duty costs or they do not carry a product that I am interested in. Soooooo, I am constantly on the look out for Canadian Distributors of products for my Spyder.

Here are a few such examples:

Several weeks ago I came across a post on this forum for an emergency beacon that I thought would be handy to have while traveling. It is called a PowerFlare. I made contact, by email, with PowerFlare in California and they put me on to a Canadian Distributor in Montreal. http://www.kaycom.com/
Spoke with George Pomkoski at Kaycom on a Thursday morning and ordered a single non rechargeable unit with red LED's . The package arrived via DHL ($6.00 shipping) the next day.

I also was on the lookout for Dust Caps for my HDC 16-9 trailer connectors. I found a company in Calgary: Control Innovations Inc. http://www.controlinnovations.ca/contact.php.
My daughter lives about three kms from their office so she will pick me up a few and mail them back east.

My latest search was for a REDA Gas Can. I realize this is supplied by a site sponsor, but shipping costs to Canada as a percentage of unit price is a tad steep. The guys at REDA told me they have shipped several hundred units up to Ontario over the past six months but have yet to secure a Canadian supplier. They did contact Harley Davidson in Canada, but did not receive a positive response. I made contact with a local HD shop and I am hopeful that they will pick up this product line.

Now if I could only purchase ISCI's RT floorboards at a local Canadian Tire.......
