Can you stand on Rivco CA020-WO Floorboards?

Recently changed seats and now looking for a different floorboard set up. The floorboards I had made are very sturdy and support anyone that has stood on them without flexing. (Includes a 6'5" 280 lb. riding buddy) . My current floorboards do drop down 5 1/2 inches below the pegs, so give a lot of room to stretch down, but just do not work as well with my Russell Day Long seat. My current floorboards are very comfortable to stand up on when needing to stretch. Just wondering if the Rivco boards can support a 200 lb person's full weight? Looks like the Rivco boards have 2 inch drop from the pegs which would work pretty well.

I had them on our 2011 RS and they did not even flex under my 310 LB down force. :2thumbs: I would do it again and will purchase the ones for the RT when funding permits. about 4 down on the farkle list.

My Diamond Plate Aluminum Floorboards

These floorboards are made of formed and welded diamond plate aluminum that is anchored at several points. The back wraps around the top of the foot pegs and the front is bolted directly to the frame. The last anchor point is to the center of the foot peg assembly. All of the bolts showing are polished stainless steel. The outer lip gives a lot more security to keep your foot from sliding and also adds lot of strength. The drop from the top of the peg to the floorboard is about 5 1/2 inches which really allows you to stretch your legs. Sometimes I have even stood up to ride for short periods just for a change of pace. I usually only do that when running less than 40 mph, but guess it does not make a lot of difference. They are about 2 seasons old and have maintained their nice look really well. The photos are when they were brand new. They are not quite as shiny now, but still pretty nice. Thinking about the Rivco ones just because I do not need as long of drop from the pegs now with the different seat. Let me know if you are interested.IMG_1321_2.jpgIMG_1326_2.jpg

modifications

hey willie, your sweet floorboards are easily modified to do what you want them to do. sent you a pm.

Form style and function are high on my list for true floorboards crafted from high quality materials and mounting hardware if this is a requirement than the ISCI boards are great.

Gotta say..!!

I would worry if you could not. They are replacing the pegs and therefore have to meet the same weight specs. Not a floorboard person but have installed many on all kind of rides...

Tried Different Floorboards

Good point that any floorboard should be well constructed of quality material for safety if nothing else. I will put my diamond plate ones up against any I have seen for strength and width of platform. Have tried several other ones that set way too high and flex a lot especially at mounting points. I tried others that had a small footrest that gave little room to move around. I will not name the manufacturers since at least one is a vendor on this website. My biggest complaint is the high cost of the floorboards as well as comfort. My boards were made of high quality material and for significantly less than ones being sold plus have served me and are very comfortable. When I changed seats to a different style, these boards do not fit as well. Since they do have such a large drop, they are suited for a regular shape OEM type of seat or a person with long legs.

Floorboards are like everything else and different ones suit different people so appreciate the different thoughts and suggestions. The main thing is to find a set that works for you. Seems like all farkles are expensive, but that is just part of riding as far as I can tell.

Hey Coz-Did you get your question answered?

mine are also very strong, but that doesn't answer the question. willie can you post a pic of your floorboards? i'm guessing they are too low?

Was not sure what your question was, so just wondering if you got an answer. Thanks for the mod suggestion!

the question

in question was your question. can you stand up on rivco floorboards. any questions? :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I have Rivco boards on my RS. The instructions say not to stand on them and I don't make it a regular policy. I have done it however and they are plenty strong. I am 235lbs. Most importantly they five your legs a much more comfortable position. I also have Custom Dynamics Highway Pegs. I am 6'4" and just sat on a new RSS at a bike show. I could never ride with the standard set up. With the Rivco's my Spyder is more comfortable than a ST.:doorag:

Hi..I'm responding to an older post, so hopefully you see this! Do these floorboards still exist and if so, where can I buy them? If not, it appears the Rivco are the only other option...unless someone knows of something different! Oh...I'm also wondering if there's a point to also getting the Rivco highway pegs as I am not quite 5'3!
Thanks

Thank you! I just got them....now I'm having a hard time getting the nut off the bolt that holds the engine (in order to put the floorboards bracket on it)....any tips on what tool(s) to use? If I have to jack it up, what's a good way to do that?
THANKS!
