Can BUDS be used for tuning, or is it simply a diagnostic tool?

I'm considering purchasing, but I really don't like the subscription charges.
Is there any way to get around that, or even to share a subscription with others?

Also, is there anyone in the Roanoke/Lynchburg, VA area who has BUDS?

Diagnostic, repair, and maintenance, no tuning. It reads active and stored codes, checks and calibrates sensors. Brake bleeding procedure. You can check components ie turn fan on and off, test switches. You can program keys.

The license is tied to the VCI (interface module) serial number, so no it can't be shared.
