There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. BRP INTRODUCES THE CAN-AM SPYDER ROADSTER TO JAPAN

October 3, 20013 – BRP today introduced its Can-Am Spyder roadster to the Japanese market during a launch event at the Canadian embassy in Japan. The touring model, the Can-Am Spyder RT roadster will be available in BRP dealerships around Japan starting in November 2013.

“BRP is excited to offer to Japanese consumers the unique opportunity to experience the next dimension in open-road riding,” said Chris Dawson, vice-president and general manager of the International division. “The Can-Am Spyder roadster is a true success around the world surpassing sales of well established motorcycle le brands in several countries. With no need for a motorcycle license and its rich touring tradition, we feel confident that Japan will soon become one of the biggest markets for the roadster.”

Powered by a proven Rotax engine, the Can-Am Spyder roadster with its unique Y-architecture can be described as part motorcycle and part convertible sports car. The next dimension in open-road riding, the Spyder roadster offers a balance of performance and peace of mind with features like the Vehicle Stability System (VSSS), engineered in conjunction with Bosch, which includes anti-lock brakes and traction and stability control systems.

Originally launched in North America in 2007, the Can-Am roadster is now sold in many countries around the world. Numerous rider communities have also been created to provide opportunities for scenic rides and to share the experience among friends.

I note that the article states that the 2014's will be available in Japanese dealerships in November of 2013. Hope that does not interfere with availability to all those waiting in the states. I may be biased, but I think we (North America) should get them first. :roflblack:

2014 RT Availability

From what I am hearing all of the dealers should be seeing 2014 RTs in mid to late November. Has anyone else heard this or otherwise? And, there should be some demo units to dealers for test rides even earlier than this? That's what I am hearing. So, sending some RTs to Japan should be a non-issue. North America would get them first, just because of the shipping delay across the big pond.

Japanese version are right hand drive respectively.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::joke:

:agree: I would've thought they were already introduced in Japan. They are heavily into the sport bike and import racer scene, so it seems like a logical choice to release the Spyder overseas...gonna cost a lot more for one though.

Should also improve the Mod market and hopefully spark production of sport performance parts and tuning.

I have had a 2010 Spyder RSS in my driveway here on Okinawa for about three years now, and have not made any headway on getting it registered. I have constantly been plagued with a brake certification needed by the Japanese government. Despite my pleas for help from BRP, they have refused to help me. This announcement is welcomed, as I hope it brings with it my ability to finally start riding.

Now give them about 14 months and they will have the spyder reverse engineered and there will be compitition from Japan or worse yet China.

My bet is......

Honda, and all the others who mfg. motorcycles in Japan are going to have a rig on the market
to be the competition with BRP soon. My bet is Honda first.

It has better brakes than most motorcycles running around in Japan. What kind of certification are you talking about, Also did you have it shipped over there from the states or Europe?
