In the past few days you responded to a thread regarding saddle bags/luggage; you mentioned some type of device to slow/stop someone from removing the bags from your bike.

I was refering to the PacSafe retractable cable locks. Pacsafe Cable Lock
Certainly not bulletproof, but very convenient and will stop casual removal. I have used them on soft bags which had sewn on D-rings and even on riding jackets or pants left bare on the bike. Good for full face helmets, too. Easy to trow in your pocket or trunk. They also make locking caribiners and a whole line of theft-resistant bags.
