• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Cable Hand Brake Went South, me North

The good guys and advisors on this Forum gave me concerns about hooking up a bicycle cable---went three blocks from home, and the hand brake sysem did not release, causing the Spyder to stagger to a stop----put my toe under the foot brake, lifting it up---with that I was on my way. So----no more hand brake attempts. Maybe I needed to put a "stronger spring on it." The only other thing I didn't like was the parking brake lever almost hidden---hard to get to----so I tried another thing that might join the hand brake going south. Took the rubber pad off the parking brake----fashioned a "Z" shaped piece of metal 1/4 inch thick and 1 1/2 " wide hooked them up where the rubber pad was removed----tightened them down, reinstalling the rubber pad on my metal extension (higher and farther out)----and it works great. I can actually find the parking brake peddle and operate it with no problems.-------------Thanks
to those of you who tell people like me how to approach and work on the Spyder-----my "Black Widow."

I give you a A for effort.
Trust me when I say this is not an easy mod to get right. Mine works okay now but I know I can get it to work better and Magic Man is pretty hot on getting a bolt on kit that will work. Just hang in there a bit and there should be another option. :doorag:

When Magic Man gets the bolt on hand brake kit ready, I am definitely interested. I would like to install highway pegs, but would be more comfortable if I had a hand brake to use while feet are on the highway pegs. Thanks Magic Man for all of your hard work.

:agree: That is the only reason I have not looked into highway pegs. Too much leg and foot movement if something was to go wrong.
