• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to jack the RT without distorting the center frame rail, and keep it safely balanced while in the air. Has anyone determined where the center of gravity is located? I notice that there are two unused holes on the underside of the central frame rail, and wondered if they were jack positioning points.

I'm not sure but if you don't need the rear wheel floating in the air, use car ramps. I drove it on the car ramps and then used my low profile jack to hold up the front end (front too low to the ground) so I could change my shock spring settings. Works nice.:dontknow:

I have a pair of ramps I bought for the front wheels, and figured for most maintenance I could jack the rear of the bike to get it level. This would give three points of support.
I thought, if for any reason I wanted to get the whole vehicle off of the ground, I'd like to be able to jack it up safely. If seems as if the only place to jack is along the center rail. I just wondered if there were preferred jacking points, and how well the RT balances when supported only at the center.
It sounds as if you ramped the rear wheel and jacked the front. How well does the RT balance when supported only at two points?

The Spyder is far from stable when jacked only at the center. I have done it (found C. G. by experimentation), but you need to get blocks under the wheels, or jackstands under the rear shock mount and A-frame mounts ASAP. A low-profile ATV jack works better, as it supports in a couple of spots, across the entire frame member. I would still opt for the jackstands or blocks, however, unless you tie the Spyder down to the ATV jack.

Scotty, How sturdy are the two lateral brackets that attach to the center rail below the engine? If you used a cycle jack could you utilize them for lateral stability?

I expect you could use them to stabilize the Spyder, but I wouldn't jack it up there.
