• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Burning Spyder...

One thing 2008 GS owners can do is look to see that the emissions canister vent has been extended. There was a service bulletin for this. If you have a short u-shaped vent hose, ending a few inches from the canister, have it addressed. The new vent hose extends just below the bottom of the splash pan.

I have an '09 GS with the short U-shaped vent hose. I've asked my dealer to extend it but my VIN was not on the list so they won't do anything about it. :banghead: I have thought about removing the canister but just keep putting it off.

I have a 2008 GS and my vin was not on the list either. So, I contacted Carlo through e-mail (about Sept. 2010) and he called me to discuss. We went round and round for a little bit; in the end he e-mailed my dealer at that time and said to install the longer vent hose at no charge. The one thing that Carlo nor any one else could explain was how BRP decided on the vin. numbers that qualified.

Extend it yourself. Just pick up an inline fitting and some fuel or vacuum hose at the auto parts store.

How would you know there's a problem if you're going 75mph down the interstate with a full face helmet and visor on? You could be on fire and not even know it!!! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:
