Bungee Connection Points for Touring

I know this may seem like a foolish question, given the relatively large amount of storage on the RT, but I'm still curious.
Has anyone used a cargo net, or bungee cords on the RT? Where do you connect them without scratching anything?
My ST-1100 had reatractable bungee hooks that were mounted under the seat. They could be extended when needed to give you a placwe to latch onto.

I carried a large bag in the back seat with a sleeping bag in it so I'd have something to lean against during a road trip. (Have a Utopia Driver's Backrest now www.utpr.com ) I used soft-ties on the passenger grab rails and use a single strap. The problem with that is the need to loosen everything when you stop for fuel. Left no marks on the rails.

I haven't carried a bag on my RTS yet, but I have used the grab rails to carry them on the GS/RS. I use either Helen2Wheels cargo straps, RokStraps, or PiggyBack straps. All have large loops at one end that can be looped around the rails without damaging them. The short end has D-rings or the equivalent, and the long end is buckled through them. They will hold a large duffle easily...or several stacked together. The pile shown is secured with blue Helen2Wheels straps and bungees. You can see them looped around the rails.

My husband and I are interested in loading a small tent and 2 backpacks onto our RT. We've only had it a little over a week and we're kind of stymied as to how we might do this. I see how Lamonster has the bag on the backseat but since that's where I'll be sitting this isn't going to work for us.

Anyone have any ideas? A luggage rack for above the back cubby area would be ideal but I haven't seen anything like this online.

I made a rack just for that purpose. I haven't used it yet, but plan to when we go to the Spyders in the Smokies Rally.

We have several items we have to haul that won't fit into the cargo areas of the RT. I've been making straps with 2" loops at the end out of nylon webbing (flat or rolled) to wrap around the RT's handgrips for the bungee to hook into. The straps are long enough to allow clearance for the bungee hooks to not make contact with the seat or grips. They work great.
