• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bump Skid Installed

My first DIY installation. This old man's body could feel it after crawling around on that cold concrete floor. Instructions were straight forward. Thank you Harvey for including those two longer screws for ends. I used ramps as many of you suggested. I might add that putting a couple of rubber mats under the ramps helps. Glad I bit the bullet and did it myself. Thank you all for the input. Art.

That is one of the best mods you can do for your Spyder, protect that front end and also have a Possum Pusher to boot.

First major item I put on my 2012 RT Limited was the Bumpskid....saved my bike a couple of times on speed bumps (even going slow did scrap a little), roadkill, etc.

Good addition to have to protect your "investment"! Congrats on the install. I did mine as well with ramps.

Now....waiting to put one on my 2014 RT....can't wait! :2thumbs:

Harvey (spyderpops) should have them ready pretty soon, i have the prototype Bumpskid on my 14 RTS and it looks GOOD.

I installed the Bumpskid on the '14 today. Took about a hour, using ramps. Unfortunately, six days and one dip in the road too late, but it won't happen again.

Ordered one for my 14 RT Limited today

Called Harvey and told me that he put them up on his website just 4 days back. Hopped on it immediately and got that sucker ordered.

Have one on out 2012 RT Limited and it saved the front end numerous times.

Mine arrived yesterday ... very prompt service.

I'll likely install it tomorrow in time for a ride Sunday.

Putting rubber mats under the ramps is a great suggestion. I recall struggling when I put the Bump Skid on my 2011 RT-S.

The 14 is a little easier to install, (I heard, :roflblack:, I let Spyderpops put it on)

It is, Joe. I couldn't wait and installed mine this afternoon.

20 minutes ... much easier than on my 2011.

Just wear gloves to keep the clips from eating your hands.

Duh ... putting a mat down to keep the ramps from scooting was a great idea.

My wife also liked it since she didn't have to lay down in from of the ramps to keep them in place while I drove up on them! :roflblack:
