• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

bump skid install questions

Good evening, I bought a bumpskid in Novemebr but am just installing it due to shoulder surgery. I removed the 4 torx screws (inst said t30 but they were t27). The next step is to remove the oem bump skid. My Spyder is silver matte. I thought the skid you remove is the silver that the 4 screws go thru. That piece after removing the 4 screws is still attatched and goes up to the top of the vents in the front. I know it has to be something simple but what am I not seeing. I called SpyderPops and they called back but I did not have my phone with me. Thanks, Mike

The factory bumpskid is black plastic at the very front of the Spyder. It has a curved edge at the front. It has 2 - 30 Torx and 4 - 27 Torx fasteners in it.

Thanks for the pic. I'm not as stupid as I thought. I just talked to SpyderPops and it seems my bike does not have the original bump skid on it. At some point someone took it off. Now it makes sense. Thanks again, Mike

Well, I got here done. I did not have to drill 5 and 6 as there were holes there with shorter clips already. Maybe it had a bump skid before as there was no oem skid plate there to start with. To get her high enuf to get the craftsman lift under her I made a small step ramp with one 18" 1X10 and another 12" 1x10 screwed together. Then I put her on 3 cylinder blocks. Mike

Here are pics of holes 5 and 6 with clips and holes already there. I'm thinking that maybe there was a bump skid installed before since there wasn't an oem skid on the bike. Thanks, Mike
