• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bump skid - How much ground clearance do you lose?

How much ground clearance do you lose?

It's not really the 'Ground Clearance' as such that's the issue, but because the leading edge of the bump skid projects forward from the 'chin' of the lower front panel, it's the significant reduction in the 'Approach Angle' that reduces your Spyder's ability to negotiate dips or drains & bumps etc square on.... :gaah:

You hafta slow enough to safely negotiate those types of obstacles at an angle, one front wheel at a time; and even doing that, you are still somewhat restricted over those things you could negotiate without hitting the 'protruding chin' of the bump skid & potentially damaging the things it's bolted/screwed to! :banghead: I know our Ozzie roads, drains, & verges might be a little different to those in your part of the World, but even so..... :p Do you really hafta ask me how I know of this issue??

If you get Baja Ron’s shock adjusters then none. You tighten them up to the original height. Easy peezee!

Aaand if you raise (or lower?!) your suspension/ride height, you'll mess up your wheel alignment by doing that!! :banghead:
