July is almost here so I guess I’d better get serious about the covered bridge ride.
Here are the details:
Date: Sunday, 25 July
Time: 0900
Start: Pat’s Colonial Kitchen, 127 S State Street, Newtown PA
Depart: 1000
Route
Ride: 94.3 miles; 3 hrs 23 mins + photo stops
Finish: Cross Keys Diner, 505 E State Street, Doylestown, PA
Gas up before breakfast; numerous gas stations along the route, if needed
I will be riding up on Saturday, 24 July, from Martinsburg WV. My plan is to take I-81N to Greencastle PA and switch to US-11N (I-81 is under construction in Chambersburg PA – CONSIDERABLE delay; I got a $100 fine for jumping lanes last weekend!!); Get back on I-81 north of Chambersburg around Scotland PA; Pick up the PA turnpike at Carlisle PA; take the turnpike east to US-611; take US-611N to Doylestown PA.
I will be spending Saturday and Sunday nights either at my brother’s in Doylestown, my sister’s in Stockton NJ, OR at the Courthouse Inn in Doylestown ($72.50 a night); return Monday after rush hour...about 10 AM
