There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. According to USA Today, today, Standard and Poor's "Weakest Links" list shows Bombardier Recreational Products as an example of a lowest credit rated firm with the most troubled outlook. Unfortunately the outlook is bankruptcy.

:dontknow:
A while back BRP received 30+ Million in stimulus money from the Canadian Government, so i don't think the'll let them go under.

Yeah...amusement parks, movie theaters, restaurants ect...they're all feeling it. How many car companies just went bankrupt? It's just another indication of the world economy, not just north america.

:agree:

Maybe if they move their operations to the US we the taxpayers can "Stimulate" their reorganization and pass that debt to our grand kids... :yikes::spyder:

This is a bad sign no matter how you cut it...I would think BRP spent a lot with advertising and other 'whatever' expenses...there should be enough of us on the road to help their numbers going forward though. Perhaps more people would buy more of their accessories if they were priced better? I love BRP accessories, but some are just priced way too high!

:agree: They need to make their products afforable compared to others

Compared to what? When it comes to the market of trikes, this is the cheapest one! Harley started their own trikes starting at $30,000 and even used Honda GW's and Harley's with conversion kits won't go for less than $29,000. And try converting a new Goldwing... :cus:

Having just ordered a RT-S, I hope BRP hangs in during these bad economic times. One of the reasons I bought a Spyder (not the main reason, just one) was that my Wing is getting a little older and I was thinking of getting a 2012 and triking it. My dealer, guessing, said there will be a nice price increase on the Wing and the kits are going up as trikes become more popular.

This is my estimate, no facts. A new 2012 Wing, (lowest level) with the accessories I want, and am getting on the Spyder, (GPS, XM radio and CB), including tax, title and license, out the door, triked with the accessories I would want would run me about $38,000. This would include a rake kit. Yes, you can buy one cheaper on eBay, maybe....add +/- $3,000 if you get the high end Wing.

Today, if you want a CSC kit installed, in my area, it runs $14,000 to $15,000. This includes tax and some upgrades. This is my local pricing, you could do better in your area perhaps. My Spyder is much less than this. JMHO

Dumb old me here... Are we buying their stock, or their bikes? Doesn't anybody remember the fun times that Harley had? As long as they build a decent product I'll be watching... their stock can be another headache for another time...

I don't know about BRP's credit rating or what any of that means to us, as far as I know they are a Privately Held company. http://www.linkedin.com/companies/brp

I do know that everyone has been touched in someway by this bad economy and only the strong will survive. BRP are innovators of cutting edge technology and I have yet to talk to anyone there that is not looking toward furthering the product line and building better customer and dealer relationships. I get no indication that this is a company that is preparing for the worst, instead I see them getting more aggressive in marketing an future product development with long range goals.

I'm not a betting man but if I was I would bet that BRP will not only survive this economic downturn but will come out better and stronger as a company because of it. Don't cash your chips in yet guys.

They got a big chunk of money to develop their hybrid Spyder. Maybe that's what will survive.

And worse comes to worst we all ride valuable collectibles. lol

'Hey gramps, what the hell is that you ridin'?'

'That's my rare Can Am Spyder from the early 21st century. Cool, eh?'

:agree:Short term stock market dips don't hurt a PHC as much as a stock issuing company. No shareholders to answer to.. ie we want more dividends' and we don't care how you do it.
Ive been invested in the Stock Market since 1967, Believe me this down turn will pass like all the down turns before.

if you price there atv's, sleds, seadoo's and trikes, or out boards & side by sides, They are very comparable in price.....but BRP usally gives you more. You just have to price there base stuff not the loaded stuff.

BRP is a Canadian staple. The Canadian Government has invested massive amounts in both operating bucks and Tax incentives in all the companies holding the Bombardier name. They are a huge employer in this country and in the province of Quebec. There are many reasons, all of them political, that the "investing" from the government will continue.
I would have no fear that anytime soon BRP will be in trouble financially.
