There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. BRP Sat Radio ?

Far more than its worth...

My wife's Sirius subscription is $228 a year with traffic data, should be in the 180 range without data. Sorry but its robbery for low fidelity overly compressed music streams that auto repeat every few hours. Sirius is also one of the most dishonest companies I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Would rather deal with Sprint or Comcast....THAT should tell you something. I have to dispute credit card transactions EVERY YEAR with Sirius. They double last years rate and auto bill your CC without permission. Lots of reports of same all over the net. Be careful dealing with them.

You would be far better off using an mp3 player with far greater variety of tunes.

There is a reason the GIVE the radios away......

OK thanks... I will skip it then. I just managed to get offered a good deal on a new BRP kit and figured I would see what it is about.
I have a MP3 player fully loaded so I am good there.

Thanks JC,
Bob

DON'T PAY THEM

What they quote you. They will bargain.
i was paying $85 a yr in a car.
also, don't let them keep your credit card info, so they can't renew you without
your ok. Their customer service is terrible.

up until Jan 2014, I was paying $56 a year for the XM on the Spyder. I loved it but was told that the XM radio on the 2010 would not work on the 2014, so I sold it.

$24.99 for 5 months with XM in the car. They want to charge me more. I tell them, i'll leave and pay $3.00 a month for Slacker Radio. I get what i want =)

How else do you pay them, they will not send a bill to pay by check. I TOLD them, each year NOT to keep and rebill my CC, they do so every year without asking. They even have an old expiration date on file...Thieves. Its not just the high prices, its the dishonesty and continual aggravation of dealing with them. Yes you can whittle them down every few months but their service is NOT worth that much of my time. This year I refused to reup my wifes escape, she was not happy but when I explained all of what was going on and showed her the letters back and forth with my CC, she understood. Just a terrible company that needs to DIE.

After giving them my cc, I INSISTED they take the cc# off my account! after a bunch of back and forth(I could not understand what they were saying) they agreed to remove cc. This happened every yr. at renewal time they would do a auto renewal, and the arguing would begin.
there customer service is the worst

I call just prior to my renewal and let them know I'm going to cancel. Within 5 minutes they offer me 5 months for about $30. I've done this several times. I set an event on my phone's calendar to warn me when the renewal is due.

It depends on what your listening tastes are. I'm a fan of classical, jazz, country, oldies, classic rock and showtunes and I hate hearing commercials. For me it's a great value.

Trb--

I've got an Onyx, that I move from Spyder to Jeep, as the Seasons change... :D
It's about $220 or so per year... and I'm also happy to have it along for the ride!

I had the XM (now siriusXM) Garmin 665 and they did everything people are complaining about (auto renew issues, very hard to cancel), and the damn thing lost signal on a regular basis because I ride on scenic roads that have trees on both sides!

Save money, use the radio, or i-device.

Check with the Source

If you want to know what it cost for SiriusXM radio, I would suggest you check with the source:

http://www.siriusxm.com/ourmostpopularpackages

They have many different packages. I like the "Family Friendly Select" package (listed under Additional Options and Specialty Packages). Gives me what I need, without all the extra stuff.

If you create your own online account, then you control your credit card. You can update it when its time to renew, and then remove it before the next renewal date. If they don't have a payment method, they won't renew your service. I've never had any issues doing it this way. I have always received a statement/invoice from them at least 45 days before any automatic renewals. Plenty of time to update your payment information, or remove it if you don't want to renew. You can cancel at any time, even if you pay for multiple years in advance. Your credit card is refunded the amount of service you haven't used.

No, I don't have the satellite radio on my Spyder, but I do in my car.

Sat Radio

OK so I might get a deal on a BRP Sat radio.

What does it cost to subscribe to this service?

Bob

For many years we have leased cars that came with at least one year of free sat radio. We used to just get the service after the trial period but have, in the last couple of years, decided that sat radio was wildly overpriced. Now, we have one car with sat radio activated and that is the one that we use for long trips. We just leased another car and we did not allow the dealer to start the free year because it is so #@!&* difficult to deal with Sirius/XM.

In some locations, however, sat radio is the only reliable source of music and news, and in such locations it is really valuable.

I can tell you from experience that removing the CC from your online account does NOT remove it from their records nor prevent them from auto renewing at the current full retail rate a year later. They steal. Its plain and simple. Even my CC company has admitted the same to me, they process a large number of fraud claims against SXM and have been very helpful in how to do so.
Please do not encourage folks to do business with this terrible company with a poor, over priced and out dated product.

Funny, I always thought the purpose of a forum, was to provide a free and open platform for the members, all members, to provide their views and opinions. Apparently, that's not true on Spyderlovers forum.
I don't believe there is anything about my post that is directly encouraging anyone to do business with SiriusXM. The original question in this thread was about how much the service costs. I was encouraging the person with that question to get the information for themselves, directly from the source. I also added my experience with the company, in the same way you have described your experiences with them. I'm sorry my experience is different than yours, but I have just as much right to post my positive experiences with this company, as you have to post your negative experience, without you telling what I should or shouldn't post.

I apologize if my post offended. Was not my intent.

None the less, SXM STOLE money from me and others. They have repeatedly committed credit card fraud. These things are documented. The fact that they did not steal from you does not make them any less a thief or any less dishonest.

Yes, you have the right to express your opinion in this open forum and it was wrong of me to suggest otherwise. Again, for that, I apologize.
