• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Had a great couple days at the 1st Ontario Spyder Riders Event sponsored by BRP.

Event was at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville Ontario on June 24-25 . We registered on Fri. and received a tee shirt and a BRP hat as well as a poker hand from the 5 stops we made on the way up from differant dealers and merchants, and then hung around for a meet and greet.

On Sat. 73 Spyders total (124 people ) in 4 groups went on a 170 mile tour of the region ( rained most of the day ) with a stop for fuel and a free lunch from sponsor Northland Recreation a BRP dealer, then back to the resort for group pictures after we had a police escort through downtown Gravenhurst .Back to our rooms get cleaned up for the reception and prizes where I was awarded 1st prize for best in show ( BRP Calabeir Jacket and 200 bucks in accessories ) and Spyder Steve won 3rd prize ( 200 bucks in accessories ).

Dinner was a 3 course meal with a drink of a sociable nature included which GE picked up the tab for. Had a great time met some old friends and a whole lot of new ones .Back to the room for a good nights sleep and head down to check out Sun morning and I'll be gob smacked if BRP didn't pick up the tab for one nights accomadation ( 202.00 a night in a deluxe room with a fireplace, jetted tub overlooking the lake )

Man BRP came through big time for this event 73 rooms , hats and prizes !!

A lot of dealers (5-6 ) organized a group ride up from there dealerships stopping at other dealerships to get poker cards .

Also as a kind of spokes person Mike Holmes of HGTV Holmes on Holmes was on the ride as well.

One of the prizes was for the passenger that rode the greatest distance not the driver, I thought that was a good prize as we do not give enough credit to our passengers .

Way to go!

Dan/Steve,

Congratulations on your prizes! :congrats: I would have liked to join you guys, but had family obligations to attend over the weekend.

Sounds like a well organized event and DeerHurst is a beautiful resort.

Let us know what accessories you decide upon.

Steve, I'll catch up with you on Thursday in Vaughan.

Regards,
Stanley

:2thumbs: Glad you all had a great time.We had made plans to meet some friends and couldn't make it:gaah: Maybe next year.

For something that was quickly organized it sure turned out well. On a whim BRP posted on Facebook and was overwelmed at the responce and had to limit the event, hence not a lot of info out there for this event .

Thanks BRP , an AWESOME EVENT !

Team Vincent Motorsports (TVM)in Ayr invited their customers to meet at the dealership and ride to the rally as a group . we like that very much as we are new to riding this year. TVM gave us TVM long sleeve T-shirts and thier salesman led the group to the rally with planned stops at dealerships along the way. We got caught in two heavy rain storms so for me it was my first experience riding in a heavy down pour ,we pulled off the hwy both times as you could not see . During the second storm the nanny kicked in to help out along the way , since I have never felt the nanny before it felt really strange to feel the wheels under nanny's control:yikes::yikes:. I passed this rain test with fling colors as my wife(co-pilot) commented on how well I drove in the rain:D.Along the way we could not beleive hoe many teenagers in cars and twenty somethings were getting the driver of the car that they e=were passengers in to pull along side of us while we were travelling at 60mph to take a picture of us driving our spyders , I hope that this a good sign that the youger people are thinking that the spyders are cool or as Lamonster post stated yesterday that they are "bad azz":D The rally was a well organized event and we really are looking forward to next years event . We had an awesome time and met lots of new friends including spyderlovers Fastfraser and Spydersteve. Congratulations to FastFraser for getting first place for the best custom spyder and to SpyderSteve for getting third place for the best custom spyder. Having a police escort for our single file parade through downtown Huntsville was alot of fun too. The rain did not stop us from having an awesome time
Thanks again
