• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

"Ten Years" is in reference to BRP being on their own

The ten years thing is in reference to Bombardier Recreational Products being a stand alone company and split off of the mother Bombardier company after 9-11 burdened the aerospace division and the recreational products division was sold off for cash. As for the Spyder history, from my own notes that I had taken on January 11, 2007 when we were introduced to the P3 prototypes - BRP indicated the Spyder had been a concept ten years previous (which would have been 1997) and they had prototypes 7 years previous (which would have been 2000). This is consistent with my first ride opportunity in 2001. We next rode P2 prototypes at Lake Tahoe in October of 2005. It was "officially" introduced to the dealers at Miramar in March of 2007, if I recall correctly. And the rest, as they say, is now history.
