• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP marketing blitz?

Apparrently there is to be a lot of $ thrown at advertising, especially in SoCal and FL by BRP.

Marc Lacroix says "With such a new product we couldn't afford to be everywhere, so we chose key markets with lots of potential, with lots of motorcycle riding; research showed those markets are likely to be keen adopters of the Spyder." He says Southern California, for example, is the largest motorcycle market in North America and the only state where one can operate Spyder with an auto license.

"Awareness levels are extremely low, at less than 5% in North America, which is why we decided to focus on key markets, and heavy up in Florida and So Cal..."

So...where's my radio controlled Spyder toy?

Oh, and on an unrelated note, BRP is getting back into Motocross.

"Under the banner Can-Am that the first off-road motorcycle to be manufactured by the giant of motorsport since the early 1980s made his first public appearance in the first round of the Canadian motocross championship June 6, Kamloops, British Columbia, under the name MS450X . ....which should enter into final production in the winter of 2010 and will be launched in early summer as a 2011 model. A(n) enduro model to follow in 2012."
