• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

any of you have one of those?... if yes what is your opinion compared with other brands you have (or had)?

thanks,

BRP helmets are made by Scorpion. I have a Scorpion EXO 400 and I like it just fine. Not sure if thats the same as BRP's cheap helmet or if BRP helmets are comparable to the EXO 700 and EXO 1000.

Scorpion EXO 1000 series (I have the Apollo in white) is identical with BRP Can-Am GSX-2 at 50% price. :doorag:

Which helmets....?

Are you referring strictly to the Spyder branded helmets...?

This week UPS is dropping off a Bv2s which is also branded by BRP and its very different.

Snowmobile vs. Motorcycle Visors

Be aware that this is a snowmobile helmet, and the visor is not approved for street use.

My favorite is my Shoei, but I'll probably try Scorpion as my next helmet. I've got a few friends who use Scorpion and they love them.

then how comes that brp is selling them for the spyder?

They don't. Look at the BRP website. Every helmet sold for Spyder use has street visors. The problem is not the helmet; snowmobile and motorcycle helmets are largely interchangeable. I am talking about the visor. BRP most certainly does not encourage the use of snowmobile visors for Spyder use. I am not giving an opinion here. I am stating a fact. Snowmobile visors are not intended for and should never be used on the street.

Still only an opinion.

The helmet is DOT approved and just fine for road use. The helmet arrived today and I'm looking forward to wearing it tomorrow.
In CT we don't have a helmet law and plenty of folks ride with just some WalMart sunglasses. Is it fact that its dangerous, yes. So what..
Enjoy the freedom of grabbing on to your handlebars, go out and enjoy it without hurting others. Where what you want to wear.

but that's just my opinion.
