• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP GPS and J&M headset

It appears to me, based on some of the threads, those who have J&M headset have no problem with hearing the BRP thru their headset, so my question is:
Does anyone that uses the BRP CB/Comm and BRP GPS/Nav system WITH the J&M headset, NOT have GPS directions go to the headset?

Is the BRP headset the problem, maybe an early model headset? Maybe an early model of the GPS harness? I am just throwing questions out there while waiting for my appointment at the the dealer to get it checked again. The dealer told me they are going to call BRP for assistance but I'm thinnking that is not going to help based on the threads I have read.

Sorry if this seems simplistic, and I apologize if you have already tried this but.............
Have you tried increasing the master volume, the up button on the 4 button cluster on the left handgrip?
The intercom and CB volumes are independent. Can you hear the radio through the headset but not the GPS?
Don't go to any of the audio pages. While you are looking at the SPEEDO page, hit the up button several times. You should see the volume control increase on the display while you do this. Afterwards, the volume indication goes away.

I also have the J&M headsets with the BRP OEM system, so I'm not able to give you any more help.

Thanks for your input and I appreciate the help. Yes, I can hear the radio, CB, intercom, and the iPod thru the headset. I cannot hear the GPS. The GPS volume only comes out the front console speakers. Funny you mention the volume. I can adjust the GPS volume of the front speakers by adjusting the AUX volume on the bike's master audio control center. I can only raise and lower the volume of the front speakers. However, if I am listening to my iPod, I use the same AUX controls to raise and lower the iPod volume in my headset. Yes, the GPS does override all over things. The reason I mentioned the J&M headset, based on other comments, is it appears if you use a J&M headset, all works well.

I am so frustratred and I feel like I am beating a dead horse, but there are so many people in Spyder Loveland that knows so much I dont want to lose the opportunity that one of you can figure this out. With all that said, BRP has told me the GPS should be able to be heard in the headset.

Thanks

I have the BRP CB/Intercom and BP GPS, with the J&M headset and I cannot hear the GPS directions through the headset. The intercom, radio, and CB all work fine. I posted some questions about this last summer (I believe), and finally just gave up trying to get it to work. As I recall, others have the same problem. BRP doesn't seem to be interested in resolving this, and I don't believe the GPS works through the BRP headset either, but I may be wrong.

Good luck,

Mike

I am not sure what the difference is between the 10 RTS and the 11 RTS, but as I stated before, it works just fine on my 11. Now that there is a J&M headset mentioned that doesn't work, I wonder if it is something with the BRP GPS and GPS harness (not the one that plugs into the bike by the rear saddlebag). I have the original harness that came with the ZUMO 660 and have used it on three different bikes/autos. I used it originally on my Victory Vision, and in my Ford, and on the Spyder.

If I remember the J&M lower cord is the same one I used with my Victory Vision. My wife can hear the GPS instructions, I can't, yet we can talk via the intercom just fine, I also hear the radio and/or the Ipod without any problem.
