• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP CB/INTERCOM

Gday,
Have had the genuine system installed by the dealer on my 2011 RT Ltd SE5 and am getting an electrical interference through the headset speakers when changing gear and sitting at idle. Has anyone had this problem and if so what was the fix. Also should I be able to hear the Garmin GPS through the system as well. It is the factory fit also. Any help appreciated. Unfortunately the dealer wrench is no expert on these things and is struggling to get info out of BRP here in OZ.
cheers

Robby, my wife has a RT-S SE5 and when she shifts there is electrical interference and according to 2 dealers nothing can be done about it...Now for the at idle interference Have you adjusted your squelch to see if it is just background white noise???

And as for the Zumo YES you should hear her talk through the head sets when you a route going and navigating it....

I installed the complete cb/intercome module, harness, bluetooth and Garmin mount last month, it took me about 6 hours but easy to do. I get no noise when I shift except for a quiet little electronic chirp I can hear in the headset. I did have a problem with background noise when shiftin/accelerating when I first installed it but it turned out to be the CB squelch was too low, I have it set to 4 bars and it stays quiet now. The Garmin can be heard in the headset but you have to have the garmin volumn on and set to 100% to begin with. You can play with that volumn setting once you get everything set up correctly.

The CB is not very strong , it gets about 1 mile range when set on DX (in the audio setup of the bike). It is very clear though so good for group riding. I am currently working on the bluetooth settings, I can send and recieve calls by voice command throught the Garmin, but you have to have the optional bluetooth module that plugs in line on the harness.

In the setup screen on the bike you need to turn the headset on (it must be on now), and there is a screen that allows you to mix the main speakers with the audio. If you have it set to 0%, the main speakers and the heads set are ballanced. If you go negative (-50% for example) the bike speakers will be louder than the headset and vice a verse. Of couse you can also just turn off the bike speakers if you just want heads set.

Good luck,

Randy
