• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

EDIT:what are the odds that the dealer will have the needed part(s) to fix this as we leave Tuesday morning for Lancaster Pa.

I made my own with metal till I was able to get the replacement for it. RJ :spyder2:

Bad luck

Remember one thing....................a happy wife makes a happy life. Before I'd cancel the tip I'd just leave the mirror off and go . Gotta keep the missus happy.

Little checking..!!

can check wuth your dealer if he us good he will have it being a commonly broken item. If not check dealers along the route and throw the mirror in the trunk and fix it along the way. If no one has one order to be delivered to your destination. If it takes longer than your trip...what can I say..:roflblack: I have had great luck getting parts thru cheapcycleparts.com. If they have the part you could have them overnight it...goid luck..!!

Thanks all

I need to go to the dealers this morning to get a bike cover off her old bike. I hope he has the parts. If not, I will check along the route. And in the mean time it will see if I can get the part dropped shipped to our destination (hadn't thought about that alternative thanks Chupac)

Yeah. I have a terrific dealer

He had the part, I got his last one. He had his service tech come up and show me how to remove and replace the mirror.. The owner said that he would not let my wife make a trip without the mirror and if they did not have the part, he would take one off another bike.

i am and will be a loyal customer of Bobs skidoo in Easton, Massachusetts.

thanks for the SyderLovers help

We had to make a trip to Mass in Feb.

It was neat visiting where I was born and grew up. While there we went by Bob's to kill time and see what might be there and cool to buy. Suffice to say the queen spent a bit on gear.

Neat little shop, had the first Ski Doo they ever sold hanging on the wall. Bought it back from the original owner, I think it was a 1969.

It was actually kind of nice to deal with a real person and not some sportbike riding punk that does noot care at all about a Spyder or the money it generates to keep them employed.

As for the part you broke, crap or not, you might want to get a spare if you are the type that does your own work.

Got his last one and I ordered 3more for spares cause that mirror thing is very easy to mess up and it is the wife's bike.

We keep several in stock at all times.
A lot of the time when we take mirrors off someone's Spyder we find a person before us has been a little rough with it and partially broken that piece.
I have taken ours off probably 100 times and they are still fine, probably break the next time, lol. We take ours off to show people how it is done.

I can see how it would be easy to break that upper "slide on" tab. I have never broken one but I've always expected it to happen. I always put a little lube on the two prongs to allow a little easier install of the mirrors. ( I also do that on the side panels that pop into the rubber gromets). It just helps the next time you need to pull something off. I think i will go ahead and get a couple of those mounting pieces just to have around.
