• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, I am just sick! When I came back from my last ride, I removed the Tupperware to check the oil. I thought I had it on correctly, but when I got where I was going it was gone! Can you tell what that part is called so I can order one and who might have one? Thanks in advance for your help!

Debbie

Its a Right Access Panel- On the Home Page click BRP Parts and follow the directions to the Fische that shows you the parts and cost??
Time to get acquainted with BRP Parts Fische.

Change your story

Try going to the dealer and leave the part about you checking the oil out. Say, THEY must not have put it on correctly.
Otherwise here is your cheapest source. http://www.powersportswarehouse.com...ories_-_Console_-_Package_T-LTD/106283/106298 Type in the word FREE at checkout for free shipping. Need to know what color. looks like 1600A is your part

Some people run some fishing line as a tether

i have been thinking of this, your story has prompted me to maybe actually do it !

Or you could add a couple of the DZus shown below in strategic places on the panels....

(Yeah, I know the panel show as an example is on an RT, but the concept still applies! :lecturef_smilie: )

DZUS FASTNERS

I like the concept and the look is not bad either, where did you get them?

Joe
Joe check E-bay ..... they have them at good prices ....remember check FREE shipping, and then Lowest price , ............. I did what Peter did, but did it with a large head Bolt and "T" nut...because I hadn't thought of the DZus fastner :banghead: ....... Mike

I just picked them up at the local Fasteners shop Joe, I think it was called 'Bob's Bits & Bolts' or something equally as dodgy; but Mike's right, get em off eBay, or your local Speed Gear/Accessories shop, Amazon, or maybe your nearest Hardware Store.... the only thing you should need is the name of the type of fastener you want - in my case, I went with DZus, but there are hundreds of other types & makes of 'Panel Fasteners' out there; pick one, fit one, problem solvered!

Did the same thing this summer. Now I am always doublechecking these panels. Powersports Warehouse is where I purchased the panel. They always have the best prices.

Mike-- Remove & replace the current twist lock? on the top access side panels?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I will look at the DZus option or the fishing line. I know I am not the only one this has happened to, but it still stings!

A common issue. Techs do not seem to know the proper procedure for putting the panels on in such a way that they do not fall off.

My dealer does this every time its in the shop and on every Spyder. I gave up pointing out their glitch. Check list: When leaving dealer make sure all panels are properly attached.

Also a regular pre-ride inspection item now.

A new panel is not cheap, so an extra fix as mentioned is also a good idea.

:agree::agree::agree:... plus they will deny there is even a chance in H*LL that THEY did it ..... this is also a reason I stay FAR away from dealer Techs ....... Mike
