• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

brake shoes

Nice afternoon to put on the new Baja Ron brake pads. The oem pads have a pair
of wire clips on them and the new pads do not. So started to remove the clips
and you know what happened next, they disappeared in the shop somewhere.
I see the oem pads come with these clips but I really don't want to spend 80
bucks for a set of 4 pads I don't use. Anyone been through this before and found
a solution

Well after the third look I found both spring clips so be aware if you intend
to change the front pads to have some sort of locking pliers handy to keep
the little devils from taking a hike across your shop. Putting them back on
seems much easier than coming off. Looking forward to the extra stopping
power

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if the rear pads have the same clip? I've got a set of Ron's rear brake pads to put on and I'll watch for this.

Yes the rear uses the same clips. I can speak from experience these little rascals fly like they have wings.

It would be nice if the EBC pads came with these clips. (actually, they do... I take them out and HORDE them before I ship the pads! They bring a pretty penny when the customer loses theirs!) :roflblack:

Sorry, couldn't resist!

The OEM springs are reusable but they are crafty little buggers. You've got to keep your eye on them!

Old shop trick...

Throw a large shop towel over the work, or work inside a large ziploc bag when removing springs. They won't fly as far. Of course if you enjoy the thrill of the hunt, you can let them fly. :)

If you can schedule this job at the same time that you're having an MRI done; that machine might just be able to catch those crafty little buggers!
