Brake peddle

I have a 2014 RT-S and find the brake pedal a little hard to use with my big feet. Is there anyone who makes a peddle that moves the pad out and forward? Also is there a post that lists 3rd party vendors for spyder add-on's. Thank you for any information.

That break pedal will not work on a 14, I understand what you are saying, even with my small feet I find the break pedal to not feel quite right, as if my legs are too long and that certainly is not the issue, lol. The floor boards are designed to break away you really slam the pedal down so any change to the pedal could interfere with this, FYI

This larger break pedal works great on our 2014 RT's. We changed them out and no problems.

I have the tricled brake pedal installed on my 2014. No issues or problems. I moved it over from my 2010 when I traded.

The ULTIMATE solution to your problem is the ISCI hand brake conversion. Braking will no longer be an issue. The ISCI unit is superb in all aspects.

Really - I did not know that! I better go out and remove it off my 14 right away. You would think that after 10,000 miles I would have realized that :yikes:

18,000 miles with it on my 2014 RTS and it seems to work very well. Who told you that it won't work??

:agree: I have the ISCI hand brake and it is the best decision I made. Really makes my ride more enjoyable. A bonus is that when you start to grip the hand brake, the foot pedal starts to lower on its own which makes it easier to get your foot on it in the event you need to hit both at the same time.

Quality product. It is a pricey mod but, for me, it was worth every penny!

Good luck!

:agree: 100% also when I am using the hiway pegs I no longer worry about getting my foot to the brake in time

:dontknow: That pedal works just fine on my 2014. I even checked to make sure that it wouldn't interfere with the "Breakaway" feature... it doesn't! :2thumbs:

I wonder if they changed the design or what's up with my bike. I saved mine off of my 2011 but it is too large and prevents the pedal from going down far enough in a panic stop.. ask me how I know, lol. I will try it again but don't want to find out when I really need it again.

Do me a favor, and try an experiment...
Bolt the pedal on, climb up on the bike, and MASH IT; just like you would if you thought that you were getting close to the Pearly-Gates! :yikes:
The 'Boards don't normally release; it takes a "Larger Than Life" poke at the pedal, to make it drop...
I can actually make mine release, by just pushing down with my hand on the pedal...
But i've got Heavy hands! :D

Please let us know if it works for you!

My memory is sometimes a bit foggy but I seem to remember from another thread the minimum thickness of the spacer under the bigger pedal is real important. Like you found out it's only a problem in an emergency.

RE: Spacer. I have about a 1/4 inch or so rubber spacer between the pedal and the rubber footpiece. I believe it came from Seal Floorboards in order to raise the pedal so it would not bottom out on the floorboards. Talking 2010 here.

Not sure if this is now a TriCled add on or not.

This is an easy DIY project that can be added if needed.

There are no "breakaway" boards on my '14, so I enjoy Seals - those come with a block to raise the height of the pedal, but would interfere with a larger pedal.

Yes, the ISCI unit IS expensive, but it is aircraft quality materials and workmanship. In this case, you really do get what you pay for. Additionally, they are not particularly easy to install - I have installed both the RS and RT versions - but doable in a garage shop, and worth the effort.
