• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

brake failure

Gordo

I tried adjusting my drive belt and seems I have created other problems..The right nut on the axle was extremely tight and I struggled to get it to loosen. It finally came and I got my belt tighten to where it should be and tightened the rear nut up again. I now have a brake failure alarm and I'm stuck in limp mode. What could I have done or moved? I can't see anything that looks out of the ordinary..Anyone have any ideas. Thanks.

Little checking..!!

make sure you didn't mess up the wiring or abs sensors to the rear brake. Many times a slip of the wrench can do that. Can't think it could be something else. Try the key walk to see if it clears then check the fluid levels and resivoir sensors. Check pedal and switch check brake lights and fuses. Let us know ...

Thanks Chupaca, I did top the fluid up but its no different. Im not sure what the abs sensor looks like but you may very well be on the right track...I suspect the wiring that runs into the brake has to do with the sensor. That cable is fine..I do have a abs alarm on my panel. I will have to look again something had to have moved.

Does anyone know what the right axle bolt should be torqued to?

My video on replacing the rear tire shows the sensor

Thanks for the info guys. I got the alarms to cancel...I read in another tread that backing it up might work and it did. I backed it the length of the garage and all faults are gone..I guess the nanny doesn't like when the bike runs with the rear wheel off the ground, I'm thinking. Snowing here today so will not take the bike for a run..Thanks to all again.

155-177 ft lb. This is from Masters manual

This has been debated not long ago!

Some think it is a mistake in later service manuals.

My 2011 service manual says 96 ft lbs which is what I used when I replaced my rear tire.

Correct! You will get faults if you run it in gear with the wheel off the ground. But all you need to do is ride it and the faults will clear.
Been there done that.
