brackets for rear fender broken

The two small brackets on the back of the swingarm are broken.The fender is loose, the belt guard has moved on the belt.I dont think the belt has been damaged, but there are groves on the in side of the chain guard. Also a mark on the corner of the tyre.To repair this I belief there is a lot of work involved, parts to be removed,old bracket removed ( grinding ) welding of a new stronger bracket and panting.All this onder warranty?Has any one had this problem before? All suggestions welcom. thanks.

Sorry to hear of your hard luck. Both problems have been posted previously, somewhere. I remember reading them but couldn't find them. I would press the dealer for replacement, including the belt if it wore much.

Yes, I have seen a few threads about wallowed out/cracked rear fender bracket mount holes. I keep an eye on those. My upper belt guard has always touched my belt at the FWD I/B tip.

I see the the fender brackets for each side are $40.00 each. Is that the bracket you are talking about? Is it the lower or upper part of the bracket? I saw where one person had the bracket that sits under the fender itself was all rusted. Let me know.

It is the small bracket welded on the end of the swing arm 3 inch in front of of the back wheels axel.

I lso saw some threads here about this and pics of the damage. I can see how drving in wet weather would create this problem. The side brackets that conect to the inside fender plate. Wich is for the tail light and stability of the rear fender. Water gets between the bracket and plate and rust starts to form. Need a beter set up for that.
