• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Border Patrol

On the lonely desert highway that passes my Anza-Borrego cabin there is a Border Patrol checkpoint. Just some trailers out in the blazing desert sun - poor devils, they sure earn their money.

I rode my Spyder to Ocotillo for a couple of cold ones and on the way back to my place I expected to be waved through as usual, when I'm driving my pickup. Not to be! They had seen me go by on my way to Ocotillo and they were prepared to stop me when they saw me coming back. They all came out of the trailers, in the 110 degree heat and no shade, to look at the Spyder, take photos, and ask me all about it.

When I showed them the trunk I jokingly said that I couldn't hide an illegal in there. They said; " oh, you'd be surprised at how small some of the spaces are that we find them crammed into".

Ha!

Like Phillipe Normand of BRP said when we asked him for advice before our first border crossing with the Spyder into downtown Canada, "Do not give them MORE reasons to delay you by making suggestions of what to check!"

Hey, as long as they catch them before they break into my desert cabin again - I don't care where they check.

Anyway, this is not a political forum. I posted it because I think it is humorous how far the interest in these Spyders spreads. I enjoyed telling them all about it, as I would anyone who asks. Seeing my Spyder might have been the most exciting thing in their day, that day.
