• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

 Not sure if my problem is because I'm a shorty or not! I have a 2011 RSS and find that at times when out riding and the sun is shining, I get blinded by the reflection coming off the instrument cover, any ideas on how to tone it down without sacrificing being able to see petrol, engine temp etc. I live about 100kms east of Melbourne in Oz. Would auto tint help? Appreciate any advice

There are several films for I-Pad/PODs/PC screens that are designed to reduce glare and enhance visibility. These can be trimmed with scissors to fit and are removable if they don't work for you. Possibly these would work for you. :D

Thanks

Hi, many thanks for that, will be off to get some and try it out! Will let you know how it goes;)

Why not just pull out the 'Safety Card' a little & adjust it to provide some shade to the screen? ;)

If it's not wide enough, you could always stick on a couple of 'wings' a tad wider that you can fold out when necessary - I used pop rivets myself, & added a clear placcy pocket to hold my 'Disabled Parking Permit' placard. And it all folds up & slides out of the way safely & neatly when it isn't needed.

What is causing the reflection? On my 2010 RT; I had the Sun bouncing off of the handlebars, and reflecting onto the Main Screen cover. I fixed it with some strategically-applied black tape on the leading edge of the bar covers...

I like this question, the answer makes a difference as to what will fix the problem.

Believe it or not; you can even have light reflected off of your jacket, and have that make it tough to read the display... nojoke

Thanks guys for the replies. When the sun shines down and hits the glass cover of the instrument panel, the reflection is extremely bright and seems to make a bulls eye for my eyeballs! It doesn't happen all the time of course, but it seems to occur at least for a part of every ride when there is a good sunny day. So I find myself riding and trying to lean in various ways to avoid it. May not last long, but when it does, it's annoying, not to say dangerous, as your vision is impacted. I do think if I was 6 inches taller it wouldn't be an issue lol.
I did wonder about using the safety card, that will be another thing to try.

I've been thinking about this very thing. I use a "Matte Armor" screen protector on my phone, made by Ghost Armor. I've been using them for years, on all my phones and devices, as it makes them daylight readable by knocking out glare completely. I've been kicking around the idea that's already been posted above... Getting some Matte Armor for a tablet and cutting it to fit. Just hasn't worked it's way up my priority list yet, lol

Hi, Thank for that, don't know the brand, will look it up, (or similar one here) seems to be the easiest option to start with:f_spider:
