• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Biketoberfest 2011- Thursday

Today was a pretty good day when I compare it to the day before. I didn't get much sleep and I did have a pretty long and hard day getting out here and that's why some folks may have perceive me as being in a "funk", I really wasn't but I guess it may have looked like that to some.

SpyderPops has never been here so I took him on an early morning ride down the coast to get some breakfast. I have a favorite Denny's I like to go to on 1 and it's a nice little ride from here at the Race Track. When we got there we were greeted by some of the local wildlife. I guess he won't eat anything but sausages and he wasn't buying the cupped empty hand trick. :doorag:

From there we rolled over to the track and they moved the vendors all the way to the east end of the track. The demo guys loved it because it was much better for getting their groups in and out but I think the foot traffic was way down because of the new location.

A few SpyderLovers you may know.

I can't believe how hard it is to find a good carwash in this town. The ones I use to go to were not that great and they are all shut down and the one I did fine didn't even have soap. The only reason I bring this up is because I'm pretty sure I caused the rain that hit us right after I washed the RT.

From there we rode to Port Orange for some BBQ at Woody's but they were shut down. That really bummed me out but Port Orange Steak House was still open so I took the guys there for a prime rib sandwich and it was as good as ever. There were six of us for dinner and it was a good time as always when you get together with Spyder folks.

We left there and headed to Main Street to see the sites. It was just getting dark and I wanted to use my Drift HD170 camera to take some remote pics. I had the camera mounted on the trunk and the remote on the bars and it worked great. The only thing I wish I would have done was change the exposure time on it and then I think these would have came out much better. They were still pretty cool. I'll be taking a lot more pics like this.

Click on the pic to open a new window and see all the pics, they're pretty cool. :doorag:

The Spyders lit up the road pretty good and were a site to see for sure.

It was still pretty early so I took Harvey over to the Hess station to checkout the sportbikes that show up there. They really don't start rolling in till around 10pm or so but there were a couple there when we got there and quite a few more later but we were talking to folks pretty much non stop till 11:30pm when we wound up heading back to the room.

I saw a couple of my Goldwing guys there and I fixed a guys kickstand that was all jammed up under his floor boards when he hit a big tire tread going down the road. He had to have his buddy help him put it on the center stand everytime they stopped and that was a real pain. He was going to take it in to the Honda dealer in the morning but I had tools with me like I always do so I got him fixed up. :doorag:

Other than that it was a pretty uneventful day. The crowd is way down here, the worst I've seen it in the 12 years I've been coming here. The only other manufacture here besides BRP was Kawasaki, all the others stayed home. Makes me wonder what Bikeweek in March is going to be like. :dontknow: I will say all the demo rides were booked up for the Spyders and I did talk with a lot of folks that are looking real hard at them now. I would say I set the hook on three of them yesterday after talking with them and showing them my mods and answering their questions. :doorag:

Speaking of fixing him up, Lamont, thanks again for giving me a hand on my back rest. Sorry about the funk comment, but you just didn't seem the "ole Lamont". I truly understand why now.

That was only Thursday and don't forget we had over 12" of rain over the weekend. Local news media is saying it all starts on Friday. It'll get better.
We will be there by noon today.

Your rain is up here right now. You can have it back if you want. Virginia got hit hard. We lucked out in that the worst part of it went out to sea. More coming tonight.:gaah:
