• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bike Haulers

Yes there are, check with Central Florida Power Sports and see who they use to deliver spyders and such. 407-847-2453 I would think that one of the salespersons could give you the information

Several on this site have used a company called, Uship. I think they bid on your shipment.
Might want to check them out.

Hi boomer,

I also used Haul Bikes; but in a round-about way. I bought my Spyder in Southern California and needed to get it up to Beaverton, Oregon.

A local Spyder owner put me on to a company that he had used with success. They responded at first and then nothing; no phone response, no email response. I then went looking on the internet and found a company called FreightCenter.com. They were better in replying and answering questions than anyone else that I found. However, they are just a broker; and they sub'd the job out to Haul Bikes. NOTE: I did not contact Haul Bikes direct as I found Freight Center first.

Haul Bikes was very good IMO, but they did take 5 weeks to the day to get my Spyder from SoCal to Oregon. They shipped it back to Milwaukie, WI and then out to Oregon.

They haul all of their bikes in enclosed trailers and they 'say' that your bike will be 100% insured, whatever that really means.

I would use Haul Bikes again, if that is worth anything to anyone.

Just my $0.02,

Jerry Baumchen

Haul Bikes is good, IMO. They are the main contract hauler for Harley trikes. Most all their routes lead to and from Milwaukee, WI. They do have a terminal near the HD factory in York, PA but I doubt your bike would go through there unless it's going to the NE, or coming from the NE. As has been said they use all enclosed trailers that have a second deck in them. They have a large lift gate/door to move your bike from street level to/from the trailer. You have to operate with their time schedule, which depends entirely on load sizes and destinations. They haul motorcycles, water craft on trailers, and ATVs. They put the truck on the road when they have a full load ready to pick up or deliver. Your bike will get picked up at any pickup point, business or residential, go to Milwaukee if the delivery is in a different zone, maybe go into storage, and then be put on a truck that is ready to go to the drop off point. They have 5 zones, with all zones leading to Milwaukee. Trucks do not cross from one zone to another. That's why JerryB's bike went to Milwaukee on its way from CA to OR.

My RT was picked up in Fon du Lac, WI, and delivered to Idaho last winter. The lady at Haulbikes assured me that I would have it in about 4 weeks even though it was winter and they weren't moving a lot of bikes across the north part of the country. It was picked up a week before Thanksgiving and delivered 2 days before Christmas, 32 days I think. With the add-on to waive the insurance deductible, and extra for the trike because of its width, my cost was just under $1000, about 1/2 to 1/3 what it would have cost me to go get it.

If you are in a rush to get your bike from point A to point B, or must comply with a tight schedule, look elsewhere. If time isn't critical, and you want someone who's experienced in hauling bikes, give them a call or visit their website.

I would not hesitate to use them again. If you can work within their schedule limitations I believe you'll be happy with them.
