• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Better battery?

Just curious; where are you going to mount the second battery?

Lamonster had a second battery on his Spyder quite a while ago.
I would also think you would need an isolator for the second battery.
So if one gos bad it won't take out the other.

I am thinking about mounting it in the trunk. I could use an isolator and tie both batteries together, but I am thinking it would be better to leave the one battery as the stock cranker and the other for add on lighting. I can drill a hole in the rear of the trunk, and use quick disconnects to switch my LED lights from the auxiliary battery during shows and such, back to the main while ryding down the road. I am still in the planning phase.

That was exactly my thought.
Have the LIPOs running just the extras on the Spyder.

They have some pretty small LIPO batteries available that are supposed to put out a good bit of power. I talked to an engineer on the phone, and asked him about life expectancy for leaving LED lights running. He wants me to hook up an amp meter and figure out the total draw of all my LEDs. Then he will be able to tell me exactly how many hours I can leave them on based on the battery I go with. They have one that is rated 18 Amp/Hr and only weighs 2 pounds. The best thing is he stated you can drain one of these to 90% and still get a full charge back on them without causing any damage.

I didn't think that you had any stock lighting left.

:roflblack: I still have some for now. My definition of stock lighting is also somewhat broader, as I consider it any lights that come on automatically when the Spyder is running. :D
