• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best Spyder dealers in Illinois

My wife and I are doing research for a Spyder RT and we wondered if there are any dealers in Illinois (and even surrounding area, we aren't afraid to drive) who are good, bad or exceptional to deal with. We're getting to be like a couple of little kids at Christmas time! :)

Thanks for the replies so far, all are within driving distance for a Spyder! After all, we've driven to Sikeston to eat rolls that they throw at you!:) We have World of Powersports as the closest dealer to us. Anyone have any dealings with them?

Neilsons or Jim Potts will do fine on alignments or service.

I broke down with a Bad vehicle stability module in 2011. I was towed to a dealer in Nashville, Ill. They told me the module was $1500, would take 7 days to get the part, and was not under warranty on a new 2011 RS-S. I rented a U-Haul and took it home. My dealer warranted the part and had it the next day. I wouldn't go near that dealer for anything. Sorry I can't think of the name.

Good to hear there are some well liked dealers in our area. Nobody has any info on World of Powersports?

Can-am's website has area dealers listed and a couple have a Platinum Certification from BRP, some have a Certification from BRP and a couple have nothing on the dealer listings. A reasonable assumption would be that the Platinum dealers are best, etc., but why? Is it due to number of sales, ratings from customer surveys, both or some other criteria? Are the ones lacking a Certification new to the Spyder dealership world?

Thanks for your time replying, Bob.

Looks like these are the guys:

Ted's Harley Davidson in Alton, IL. is where I got my 2013 RT LTD. Super nice guys to work with and the maintenance department is really good. They had my bike in for the 5,000 maint and then got the parts for the heat recall, so went ahead and did that at the same time!

World of Power Sports in Decatur is 20 minutes from me. I didn't buy my first or current Spyder (12 RT) from them. It was for no other reason than price, but that was over 4 years ago.
They sell tons of bikes, ATV's, and sleds. Their facilities are sizable. Rick is the Sales Manager.
When I'm ready to invest in a new ryde, they will most certainly be consulted.
I do have my service work done there. I am very satisfied. Andy is the certified tech. I never looked at the dealership's BRP qualification standing. I go there because they're close, they get it done and in my experience, they have gotten it done right.

Sent from my little piece of paradise!

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to give their opinion on dealers. I went to BRP's website last night and asked for more info and got a message saying that someone from World of Powersports would be getting in contact with me. Nothing on my email when I got up (about 15 minutes ago) and thankfully no phone calls. I'm working 12 hour night shifts and still have up to two more weeks left before this job is done. Seems like it keeps getting extended but that's just more money for our Spyder!

Traveling out of state to make a great deal on a :spyder2: is not a problem but we would like to get it serviced somewhere closer to home. Definitely more homework to do but it WILL be done! Thanks everyone!

IL Dealer

I've purchased two RTLs from Jim Potts in Woodstock, and they were fair with me on both. It probably won't make a difference to you, but I've had all of my service work done there too and they've done a good job every time.
