There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Belt alignment issue

I have a friend that bought a brand new 2016 RT and has had problems with belt alignment since it was new. He is now on his third belt in less than 6,000 total miles and has had the dealer attempt numerous alignments. The Tech said they had to go to the extreme to get it lined up this time but it still wanders all over the place and now sounds like the front bearing is going.

Is it possible that either the front or back sprocket(s) are bad? I was also wondering if somehow the engine is not quite centered and causing the belt not able to be aligned.

Was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what was finally done to fix it.

Thanks

Mike

ALIGNMENT

:yikes: ..Wow , three belts already..... I think you are correct about the engine alignment, but someone her said the engine is Static ie can't be adjusted for alignment :dontknow: ...... Something is seriously wrong, I can't believe BRP hasn't stepped in by now !!!! ..... and my belt ( and I'm sure all belts ) wander to some degree , but certainly not like yours .................. Good luck ... Mike

Curious. ....🤔

:agree: but wonder....why did they change the belt..?? what kind of damage or did they think the belt was faulty. I have serious doubts about how it has been handled myself. Belts wander but I have never seen one that could not be adjusted to track going forward. what we are seeing is the adjusters on the F3's are snapping maybe it is an adjuster problem. Sometimes you need to compensate for the change when torquing the axel bolt...:dontknow:

Thanks for the reply and I think my friend has had 2 BRP cases opened. I don't think it is a dealer issue as my F3's was adjusted perfectly. Anyway his RT is supposed to be picked up on Friday by the dealer.....was kind of grasping at straws as it seems there can only be so many possibilities to cause this. Maybe the frame is off just a touch?

Agreed, either the front sprocket is loose or the bearings are bad causing the front sprocket to wander back and forth. Another possibility would be the bad bearings in the rear sprocket carrier.
