• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery Tender

Does BRP make one for the Spyder? Is there an after-market one available?

I am going to be out of town for a few weeks and do not want to come home to a dead battery.

There are several on the market that all work well.
I dont know if BRP has branded one of there own.

Not aware of a BRP one. My favorites are the Battery Tender, Battery Tender Jr., Accumate 612, and Optimate III. The Xtreme is supposed to be a dandy, but I havent tried one yet. Any good bike shop should be able to fix you up...or you can go mail order.

Amazon is great place to get battery tender plus...great deal on a great product...got mine because of you, Scotty!

WallyWorld (WalMart) sells one. I got it and it was on my Spyder all last winter and it worked fine. Evidence is I disconnected it and cleared the cover off and the Spyder started -- first try -- without touching anything but the starter button (well, I also touched the M button and the kill switch).

These are not magic nor highly technical devices. You need a good and competent one without spending serious $$!

I have the battery tender plus. Works great. You need to hook the jumper wire directly to the battery and not to the lugs under the seat. I ziptied the plug to the wire that goes to the switch for the passenger seat. I just plug it in and let it go. Takes 10 seconds.
