• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery Dead

Just got my 2012 RT back from the 35K service. Had put in a new battery before going in for service. Got it back last Friday and on Sunday, battery was dead. Jumped it and ran around figuring it charged back up and put it away. Now, Friday, less than a week later, battery dead again. What could be draining the battery? Maybe did the shop forget or do something. Never had any battery problems before except the previous battery was old, so replaced it. Thank you.

Took 2012 RT in for 35k mile tune up and had replaced the battery just before taking it in. They had the bike 3 weeks and I got it back last
friday. Went to Ride it Sunday, battery was dead. Quick charged it and rode around. Yesterday, Friday (1 week later) went to start it and battery was dead again. Can not see what would be draining the battery. Is something left on, that I don't know about or did service cause the problem? Will call the shop when they reopen too. :banghead:

I'll assume the battery you just bought is the same one that went dead ..... ( nothing bad that occurs at a dealership surprises me anymore ) RT's 2010 through 2013 had a weak charging system ( that's why they should be kept on a battery MAINTAINER when not being driven ) that required you stay above 4000 rpm for the system to re-charge .... I think all of the RT's have a parasitic loss from it's many elec. options, I know the early ones were the worst ..... If batt terminals weren't tight this is something you should check ( maybe they didn't do it ..... I have used STAR washers on every mtc. batt. I have ever owed and never had a terminal get loose by it self ..... it could be a BAD batt. and you need to have it tested, to make sure it isn't..... a Quick charge won't last, and the Batt. should have been put on a Charger when you got home .... then a maintainer after it was fully charged ..... Good luck .... Mike
