There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
I dunno about the spelling being 'incorrect', after all, there is a town in Italy called Banzi & Massimo Banzi is one of the co-founders of a micro-controller operating system, & I'm sure there are more uses of that spelling out there..... :dontknow:
Buuut, I don't really care how it's spelt, they are still bleedin' zippy little buggers, aren't they?!?
They've gotta have 'pre-programmed' attack patterns don't they?! I can't see any remote operator reacting that fast!
Hyp is right. When using it in Japanese reference that would be right regardless of Banzi actually existing too lol. Eh tomatoe-tomahto, banzi-banzai :roflblack:
Makes you wonder how 'autonomous' they actually are - there does seem to be an operator or two standing around the circle, as well as a ref, but the little boxes the operators have in hand don't appear to have any guidance controllers on them?
I wonder if they just select from some preset 'attack patterns' & basically let the robots go, or if they can update the attack patterns on the fly, so to speak?!? It could make for some bloody fast finger work if they hafta select every one; but then how much more complex do the machines hafta be to carry out a bunch of routines that are stored on-board, while still retaining a remote update or re-program capability! And what level of response needs to be built into them; they do seem to face off, & react according to what the opposing machine is doing, so it does imply a degree of autonomous/on-board reaction capability?!
And they are STILL bloody zippy little buggers! :yikes:
