• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Backrest for the 2014 RT

Well, after a couple weeks, I tried it on a four hour and the backrest is not going to work for me. It still pushes me forward, so it's back to dealer for the backrest. It's a sad day for me and my bad back.

Trying to decide myself. $500.0 for a back rest that does not in any way adjust seems a bit much. Planning on riding some, and possibly a Ultimate purchase at Americade if I think I really need to make any change from Stock 2014 seat.

I can sympathize with you Steve. It only took about a quarter-mile for me to be certain that BRP's backrest just wouldn't work. My new Ultimate seat with backrest just arrived yesterday.

Steve, I have lower back issues and knew I had to have one that is adjustable; I like to lean back slightly. I chose the Utopia because I had one on my previous '11 Rt. Even with that, I still wear a back support belt, or sometimes wrap the belt around the backrest to give me that extra cushion in the lower lumbar. Looks hooky, but works. Utopia used my seat to engineer his first backrest for the '14 and inserted it just a hair behind the existing seat hole and I had him lower the backrest all the way down to where it touches the seat. Works good for me. If you want some pics, email me. Not pushing Utopia, only that I've used them before and know how they work or can be self adjusted to suit.

I'm 265 lb 6'0 with a 30" inseam, and have the backrest on my 2014 LTD. It does move me forward a little, but the floorboards let me move my feet forward, almost so my toes are touching the deflectors, so I'm OK. I may leave it off for my many short trips around town, but I'll definitely use it on longer road trips.
