Axle nut torque - is 150 ft/lbs plus a tug enough?

Installed new tire today, I know torque value is 166 ft.pounds but my torque wrench only goes to 150. So is 150 plus a tug ok. Thanks

That’s what I did on mine, and it has been fine for 4 years, p3fe. Don’t quote me, but there is an allowed variance on the torque figure of maybe 10%? I’ll check my workshop manual when I get a chance.

The variance is actually +/- 11lbs p3fe. I remember now. I reached 150 and gave it a tiny tug (the torque wrench, that is hyea, just to put it in spec. :thumbup:

Get one of these, and do the formula to get the right torque, with this attachment and my torque wrench it is 117 lb ft.
